MUNAWARA PROJECT ATLAS
Munawara Project Atlas was initiated following the tragic earthquake that struck the city of Marrakech and the High Atlas mountain regions of Morocco with deadly force on the 8th September 2023. The earthquake was the strongest to hit central Morocco in more than a century. Statistics revealed just over 3,000 lives lost and countless homes and buildings destroyed.
Displaced people in the High Atlas communities need urgent assistance including fresh food/water, medical attention, shelter and community support. Coupled with the loss of their loved ones and most of their belongings, they also faced challenges in accessing clean water, fresh food and basic supplies. Over the long term, these communities will need to rebuild their lives and livelihoods. Munawara Project Atlas consists of three charitable causes to help achieve these goals.
Munawara Earthquake Relief supports the relief of the earthquake surviving victims in Morocco, whom have lost their loved ones and whose livelihoods, homes, masjids, hospitals and schools have all been completed destroyed or significantly damaged by the quake. We are committed to providing immediate and long-term support to alleviate the immense suffering and to help restore resilience of rural communities within the affected regions.
Munawara Education Atlas supports access to education for the underprivileged Moroccan people, especially those located in the mid to high Atlas mountains and the surrounding valleys. We are aiming to provide education for all ages and levels in these remote and underprivileged regions of the country.
Munawara Rebuild Atlas supports the rebuilding of new schools in the mid to high Atlas mountain regions. These villages are among the most remote and marginalised in all of Morocco. We are working in partnership with existing stakeholders and partnership schools located within the area, to be able to continue facilitating in person teaching through the establishment of new school premises, the renovation of existing classrooms and the provision of essential education facilities.
Your continuous support and regular donations can really help us to reach these goals and be able to fund these projects in order to improve people's lives within these rural villages.
These innocent victims were already leading very basic humble lives and now most of that has been completely destroyed by the earthquake that struck Morocco on the 8th September 2023.
Let’s help those in need by raising the funds to rebuild their humble lives once more by the will, grace and mercy of Allah and through your kind donations.
We believe that education should be accessible to all regardless of their age, gender, ethnicity, ability, social and economic status.
We are passionate about empowering the most deserving people in remote communities within the mid-high Atlas mountain regions and its surrounding valleys. We are equally as dedicated to providing the education facilities and training they need to thrive and become upstanding members of their community.
We are working in partnership with existing charities and schools, located within the mid to high Atlas mountain regions, to continue facilitating education through the establishment of new school premises, renovating classrooms and providing other essential education equipment - including computers and books for libraries.
In line with our ethos about education being accessible to everyone, regardless of their economic background, we also believe that everyone deserves a nice, quiet, safe place to learn.
SUPPORT OUR PROJECTS
